The Straits Of Gibraltar (Steve Towson) I'm waiting to receive a confirmation So I can live with you But something is wrong Something is broken My message it ain't getting through So I pull these lips up to the receiver But there's no connection there And all of the while The cycle continues To spiral to despair Oh but the straits of Gibraltar Keeps on calling me to cross The straits of Gibraltar My hope lies beyond those rocks Life and death, fear and security All depend upon that sea As the sands of chance keep on rising Filling up the best of me Ice white moons keep on moving Casting shadows down in the path Of the range of waves that I keep on climbing How long can this treatment last How long can the treatment last How long can I last The straits of Gibraltar Keeps on calling me to cross The straits of Gibraltar My hope lies beyond those rocks

When the devil wields a pen (Steve Towson) I stood before her that day as she dictated how to behave just like I was in school but I said I'm not just anyone I know what I've seen and done I ain't nobody's tool for here I chip away at night working with my words my knives cutting at Sarina's state for once you cross the bottom line you can never compromise you're chained to Sarina's state I had a meeting with a group they said "we know what you're going through for we all live there for inside of this beaurarcy we are parts of the machine desperate and disposable" but I know it'll change it has got to change it is gonna change someday for in pursuit of power, wealth and sleaze she will bring all to their knees begging for her to care but the more the hearts that are stacked closer draws the final fate the collapse of Sarina's state for here I hack away at night working with my words my knife cutting at Sarina's state for once you cross the bottom line you can never compromise you're chained to Sarina's state but I know it'll change it has got to change it is gonna change someday

Corner of Blues and Jubilee (Steve Towson) blues street winds its way among these buildings blending with the cars and the concrete I can see my people as they hang outside their windows staring down on this tragedy they can see my ticket perched inside my pocket as I go down blues street so I duck my face inside my jacket hiding from the eyes that are peering at me peeling away all the barriers to my conscience making me feel remorse for the fact that I left you a flee in a hurry now I must wear the people's scorn as I go down blues street for my baby said I want to talk of our future and the prospects of our own family you can earn more money in a factory than you can ever earn from your dreams and so now the clouds have been called in and I wonder wandering down blues street

Who do you believe? (Steve Towson) well they locked me away for the duration of the period while the powers that be marched on in to blow our minds away saying it's ok to prosper off the poor in our society but soon the parasites they will learn that those who fuck with fire they will burn so who do you believe? the government, press or your friends? who do you believe the government. press or friends? you know that I've been searching for a way to try to save this place and there's two things that I've learnt so listen to what I say you've gotta listen to your family, listen to your friends, talk to your family talk to your friends, for what we need is peace not war I say what we need is food not bombs well the rich they may fly high high upon their private planes but sooner or later they will land and it ain't safe when it rains so who do you believe? the government, press or your friends? who do you believe? the government, the press, the rich your family, your friends?

When the revolution comes (Steve Towson) when I look out my window I see things are going fast I see my people their faces are getting blurred by their past for too many lies and deciept have stopped our true unity for when the revolution it comes we shall create our freedom I talked to the preacher he said I must bow before God the politicians they believe that we will obey unjust laws for it is we I say who hold the power we are a force to be reckoned with for when the revolution comes we shall create our freedom i say sweet freedom

Postcards from Rocky (Steve Towson) sitting in a public bar on such and such a street I am drinking away my money to escape this stinking heat but the more I keep drinking the more I keep thinking of you as I write you these postcards from Rockie well the road it winds miles miles north flirtin' this way and that swingin with the shore but tonight I know I shall revive from this drive slowing down my senses in homehill in homehill I can see the clouds they are building building and building and then the creeks they arise making it hard for me to drive but I don t want to stuck here miles away from you no I don t wanna be miles away no I don t wanna be miles away from no I don t wanna be miles away

I want the blues (Steve Towson) I try to sleep with you but I'm so down so blue that every touch is like a thousand knives every look just pierces my eyes oh I'm so tired of laying my love into you so i tell you I want the blues out of me your kissin lips once moistened mine but we no longer touch we've got no time for what we had before no time for our sweet lovin anymore so I tell you I want the blues out of me now I wait for you at the middle of the stairs just hoping you might meet me there but you won't meet me half way you won't meet me at all you don't wanna talk of Rome and its inevitable fall so I tell you I want the blues out of me

Death of a runner (Steve Towson) one more run to make until all is repaid one crash could tear it all apart and it's back to the start again as the wind wraps the weathered pane the pressure it builds inside one smooth run is all that I need to reclaim my life desperation makes acquaintances allies from opposing sides but this engine is strong body is able capable of keeping it tight but the wind it wraps on the weathered pain as the pressure it builds the pressure it builds inside one smooth run is all that I need to reclaim my life then there are pigs to the side vultures to the front I can feel these legs as they start to run but the end it screams into my thighs as I hunger for shelter to hide the beasts they take delight as my run for freedom it dies

Poem to Sensualness (Steve Towson) I've been drinking And I've been smoking too much of late that I haven't had a dream But last night I had a vision, I had myself a mental movie In it I saw sweetness. In it I smelt loveliness I was walking along the beach where the waves came crashing in Over and over, again on me I walked to the shore, lay on my side I saw sweetness For last night I wrote A poem to Sensualness Yes it is true, I have been drinking And I've been smoking too much too But last night I had a dream, I had myself a mental movie In it I saw sweetness. In it I smelt loveliness We were walking along the creek, sun was shinning, birds were singing Yes it was one hell of a dream I opened my eyes I saw Sweetness For last night I wrote A poem to Sensualness 2 months is too long for a love to be gone

Fifteen minutes of your love (Steve Towson) I say 15 minutes of your love is all that I can have today for the police they are on their way on behalf of their companies for the debtors they come and the debtors they take what the company wants as profit but 25.7% is not business it is piracy on the financial seas for they saw this vessel stricken marooned high on the beach and they came and they plundered it yes they plundered it for all that I was worth leaving nothing at all for me I say 15 minutes of your love is all that I can have today for the police they are on their way on behalf of the company so wrap me deep inside your love for soon tomorrow it will come and I must be somewhere else to repay their ransom demands 15 minutes 15 minutes of your love is all I can have today for the police they are on their way on behalf of the companies as soon as they get out of bed with the companies

Earlier this evening (Steve Towson) earlier this evening when I walked you to your home the smell of lavender was all along the lawn I tripped up your stairs as I walked you to your door needing to know if tonight there is something more than just a kiss or if I must knock one off the wrist I'm needing to know if tonight this it for tonight I feel like we've got the time in this constant constraint that we call life to quantify the truth of the lie for we've got tonight so I'm concentrating on some confirmation I need some kinda sign some kinda indication of whether this love or this is lust I'm needing to know if my feelings will be justified tonight for tonight I feel like we ve got the time in this constant constraint that we call life to quantify the truth of the lie for we've got tonight

Ngombi's not dead (Steve Towson) petrol explodes at 9:15 cars are left helpless stranded on the street and I'm just standing here watching this world the hive watching the machine as it struggles to survive but oh no Ngombi's not dead well men and women look all around trying to find someone to bring on down to their level of contentment at their life's achievements wanting all to feel their bereavement for our souls the trees have all gone long ago how long for survival no one knows but oh no Ngombi's not dead I say oh Ngombi's not dead so breathe on deep while you still can let the gases rise up and fill your head for while you put your faith inside of your tv the whole world it is fucked and so are we

Long Drive Through Ipswich (Steve Towson) Cause it's a long drive through Ipswich Long drive through town Long drive through Ipswich as the sun is setting down On me I can see the look of anguish Written across your face As I lay down your weary hand I can see you've reached the end of your race For the poison it lies within your blood The poison's in your belly I can hear the banshee as she howls Moving through the corridor For all of your life you vested your trust In the hands of those driven by lust For convenience Financial reward Until at last you severed the cord
